| My favourite time to visit Haida Gwaii is May. The wildlife is incredible. Everything is alive and the energy is contagious! |

The Coastal Secret...
Haida Gwaii in May? Many of us want to travel in the 'summer months' and don't expect that May is actually one of the best times to travel to the magical Queen Charlotte Islands islands and the Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve. Statistically there is as much sunshine in May as August. However, it is the incredible wildlife viewing that draws visitors. Some wildlife experiences are only available to experience in May. For example, May-June is the height of the seabird nesting season.
We have the opportunity to view tiny ancient murrelet chicks, only 2 days from the egg, running to join their parents out at sea - and the wildest thing, it all happens at midnight! Humpback whales have just arrived from Hawaii and will be sighted throughout the islands. After not eating all winter, they are actively feeding, creating spectacular sightings. With hardly any other visitors, we get great visits with Haida Watchmen at the ancient Haida villages. And the wild beaches haven't seen footprints since last year! Join Us! May 24-June 1, 2010 $ 4465 CAD + 5% GST BOOK NOW
