2010 Bringing the World to British Columbia
With the world watching, all eyes were on BC recently during the Vancouver2010 Winter Olympic Games. The games have brought about a renewed sense of patriotism for Canadians and we are all a little more proud of what was already an amazing country and province. With so many wonderful places to go in this world, sometimes we take for granted where we actually live. The British Columbia coast is among the most stunning in the world, and has some of the most diverse wildlife on the planet. If you do one thing this year, try exploring a little more into your own backyard. You'll be amazed at what is waiting around the next bay or inlet.
Olympic Television Coverage - Featuring Bluewater Adventures
In the summer of 2009, a Canadian Network, CTV had a film crew join us in Haida Gwaii / Queen Charlotte Islands on the Island Roamer. Bluewater captain Ian Giles talks about the BC coast and his experiences.

August in the Great Bear Rainforest
August 29-Sept 5, 2010. Come with us and travel deep into these primeval forests. We expect to see grizzly bears, black bears and even the all-white Kermode bears. Local First Nations culture is a big part of this adventure as we travel to villages and ancient sites. See whales, birds and maybe catch a glance of some coastal wolves. Starting and ending in Bella Bella, BC - you do not want to miss out on this departure! $ 4185 CDN + tax September dates are also available.
Bluewater Office Insights
I am 25 years old, and for my age I feel very fortunate to have experienced so much of this vast coast. I can't believe that more Canadians and Americans are not checking out what is right in their own backyard. I have floated among a group of 50 Humpback whales in Haida Gwaii, seen glaciers calve in Southeast Alaska, watched a Kermode bear fish for salmon on the central coast, showered under a huge waterfall in the Great Bear Rainforest, played the drums in a native Long House, and kayaked with a group of over 100 sea otters. These are only some of the many highlights I have had on these trips. Traveling by boat is an incredible way to see this province. I hope one day that every North American can experience it and truly see wildlife in the wild, and remote places.

One of the factors that make my job with Bluewater so enjoyable is the great group of people I get to work with along the Northern Coast of British Columbia and Southeast Alaska. It is truly evident that these people love where they are and what they do. They all are more than happy to help you out or give you some local insights into their area. When I am organizing logistics in such remote areas, it is always our suppliers and friends on the coast that can answer my questions or point me in the right direction. I am looking forward to my second season with Bluewater this year and meeting more of the Bluewater extended family that spend their time on the north coast. - Erin Boyle, Trip Logistics & Planning
