What to Bring

Feel prepared to take on whatever nature has to deliver, as the coast is always full of surprises

Arrive Well Equipped

Make the most of your wilderness adventure by arriving for your trip ready to face the elements. Warm, cool, sunny, rainy, windy—whatever the conditions, we hope this packing list covers the bases to keep our guests comfortable on and off the boat.

  • Raingear should be waterproof. Though water resistant may be helpful, waterproof helps stave off wind and the dampness of rainy days.
  • Comfortable rubber boots are essential. Guests can expect to wear these daily, as we typically unload from the zodiac into shallow water, and the rainforest floor rarely ever dries out. Mid-shin or higher will ensure feet stay dry when stepping out of the zodiac.
  • We cannot accommodate hard-sided luggage. There is storage in every cabin for soft-sided, compressible bags such as a backpack or duffel bag.
    • Layering is best! A good, long-sleeve thermal layer paired with a vest and waterproof outer wear will suit most conditions we encounter. Remember, when underway, there will always be a slight breeze.
    • While the crew may be able to dry things off in the engine room onboard, we recommend bringing two of each piece of clothing so one can be worn while the other has time to dry, if needed.
      • Waterproof rain gear (jacket & pants)
      • Comfortable mid-calf-high rubber boots
      • Base layers – merino wool & fleece are great choices (long sleeve & short sleeve shirt, leggings/long underwear)
      • Quick dry pants & shorts
      • Outer layers – warm/insulated vest and/or jacket
      • 2 or more pairs of wool socks
      • Sandals or water shoes (for itineraries with hot springs)
      • Swimsuit (for itineraries with hot springs)
        • Shoes, soft-soled and non-marking for wearing on deck

        • Bath towel (for Island Roamer & Island Odyssey guests)
        • Hat & gloves
