Payment & Terms

3 ways you can book your Bluewater trip once availability has been confirmed.
  1. Call our office 1.888.877.1770 with your contact information and provide your deposit with Visa or MasterCard.
  2. Email us with your contact information and mail us a cheque for a CAD $1000 deposit per person.
  3. For those of you traveling from overseas, a bank wire might be the easiest route for payment. Please contact our office and we will provide you with our banking details.

To Reserve your Space

A $ 1000 deposit per person is required to reserve a space. The balance of payment is due 90 days prior to departure.

Group Bookings or Charters

Deposits and payments vary per charter group. Please contact the Bluewater office for details on payment for a group charter.

Methods of Payment

We accept Visa, MasterCard, cheques, bank wires, email transfers or money orders.  Before you send a personal USD$ cheque, please contact our office to receive the Bluewater exchange rate.

Please note that Bluewater Adventures’ rates are cash discounted. Any balance amounts paid with credit card will be subject to an additional 3%. There are no fees associated with credit card deposits.
 

Single Supplement Fees

If you do not have a travel companion to share a cabin with, no problem! You can book at no extra charge, where you may be paired with another solo traveller of the same gender. Guests are welcome to make special cabin requests in advance and although we cannot make guarantees, we will do our best to fulfill them.

If you would like your own cabin guaranteed during your voyage with us, the second berth in your cabin can be purchased at 50% of the regular expedition fees + tax. Space is limited and will be presented on a first come, first served basis. Please contact the Bluewater office to learn more.

Currency

All Bluewater Adventures trips are priced in Canadian Dollars and are subject to applicable Canadian taxes. Expeditions taking place on MV Snow Goose are priced in $USD. There are no taxes applied to any Southeast Alaska trips. If you would prefer to mail a US cheque for a trip priced in Canadian dollars, please contact our office for current Bluewater exchange rate.

What is Included in the Price

Travel with Bluewater Adventures is made easy with our all-inclusive rates. Itineraries vary, but you can expect the following to be included:
All deliciously prepared meals from lunch on the first day of your trip to breakfast on the last, accommodation on board the ship (based on double occupancy) , full Crew, guiding and First Nations protocol fees, park permits, and use of all on board facilities.


What is not Included in the Price

Transportation to the start point and from the finish point of your trip; any accommodation or meals prior to the start of the trip or after the completion; travel, evacuation or cancellation insurance; sustainability fee (CAD $100), and the Canadian Goods and Services Tax (5% ). The only money participants may require during the trip is for optional purchases of Bluewater Adventures merchandise and gratuities for the crew.

Sustainability Fee

Bluewater Adventures is fully committed to the principles of Ecotourism. As a responsible ecotour operator, Bluewater Adventures supports local communities and coastal First Nations, and contributes to increasing knowledge of wildlife through research and the efforts of local non-profit conservation and scientific groups. By supporting conservation and habitat protection we hope to ensure long-term sustainability for our operations and future generations.

In addition to working closely with various government - federal, provincial and First Nations - who manage parks and protected areas along the coast of British Columbia and Alaska, we have signed sustainability/ protocol agreements with coastal First Nations to support their economic development and stewardship.

We continue to offer trips of the highest quality, while maintaining the Bluewater vision, and we’d like to ensure that our guests understand how their fares contribute to these efforts. Bluewater Adventures collects $100 from each guest to contribute to increased conservation and research, First Nations environmental monitoring and stewardship, and engaging with government on development issues. Our guests can share in the pride, knowing that travelling with Bluewater Adventures contributes directly to the sustainability of the coast.

Cancellation Policy

The deposit required to reserve your space on a Bluewater trip is CAD $1000 per person. For cancellation more than 90 days prior to departure, a $500 administration fee (per person) will be applied.

Please note that with a cancellation taking place within the 90-day limit, all trip fees are due and deposits received by Bluewater Adventures are forfeited and are non-refundable. 

It is strongly suggested that all guests purchase cancellation insurance as Bluewater Adventures’ cancellation terms apply to all passengers

 

Travel Insurance

Due to the nature of travel with Bluewater Adventures, passengers should have in place prior to departure, comprehensive insurance coverage including without limitation, medical, emergency evacuation, trip cancellation and interruption, accident and baggage insurance. It is the responsibility of the passenger to secure insurance to the level that they prefer. Bluewater Adventures terms apply to all passengers.

Additional expenses are the full responsibility of the passenger. Any losses experienced as a result of incorrect travel planning or not securing adequate insurance will also be the full responsibility of the passenger.

Receiving Trip Information

Bluewater will send you a package of general trip information upon receipt of your deposit. At least 90 days prior to your departure you will receive a more detailed package on your departure including all of the following:
  • Bluewater Reservation Package – provided upon booking
  • Sample Trip Itinerary
  • Frequently Asked Questions
  • Clothing and Equipment List
  • Arrival & Departure Information once all details are confirmed
  • General Information
You are required to fill out health and liability release forms to complete your booking. Most will be shared with our guests via secure online links.


Booking Airfares

We ask you do not book your airfare until 90 days prior to departure when your trip date is confirmed with your official Arrivals and Departures Itinerary and trip packages are sent out. If the trip fills up early, we may notify you sooner than the 90 days. Please note our Cancellation Policy and Assumption of Risk statement.

If you require assistance with any logistics of getting to or from your destination, refer to your Arrivals and Departures Itinerary. Requirement to enter Canada - Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA)

New entry requirement now in effect: visa-exempt foreign nationals who fly to or transit through Canada need an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA).

Please be wary of imitation (scam) websites claiming to provide eTA applications at a very high rate. The eTA application provided by the Canadian Government, found on the Canadian Government's website costs CAD $7.


Assumption of Risk

We require that participants in a Bluewater Adventures trip acknowledge that there are risks associated with their trip with us and that they accept responsibility for engaging in activities that may involve hazard, including, but not limited to, boating, sailing, transfers in and out of and travel in motorized and oar powered dinghies, use of kayaks, hikes ashore and all other activities associated with boating vacations in remote locations. We require that participants acknowledge that Bluewater Adventures, Bluewater Adventures Ltd., Anchor Excursions and the owners and personnel of these companies will not be responsible for any damages, injuries, illness, death, losses, delays, or expenses, whether to person or to property, due to any cause whatsoever. In order to confirm registration a signed liability release will be required of every participant acknowledging the risks associated with these tours and assuming these risks.
